Commercial Hood Filter Cleaning and Replacement

Baffle filters are the first line of defense in a grease hood, and a loaded or wrong-sized filter sends grease straight into the duct. We clean, size and replace commercial hood filters across the Atlanta area.

Cleaning versus replacing

A stainless baffle filter that is straight, tight in the track and free of corrosion can be washed indefinitely. Warped frames, split welds, gaps at the ends or aluminum mesh filters in a grease application all mean it is time to replace.

What we do on each visit

  • Pull all filters and soak them in a hot degreasing tank
  • Pressure-wash both faces and the baffle channels
  • Inspect for warping, corrosion and correct overlap in the track
  • Reinstall at the correct angle with grease cups emptied
  • Quote UL-listed replacements in the exact sizes your hood takes

Filter care between visits

Filters should be washed weekly in most kitchens, nightly on heavy fryer and charbroiler lines. Never run baffle filters through a dish machine with the cook line running uncovered, and never operate the hood with a filter missing.

Frequently asked questions

How often should hood filters be cleaned?
Weekly for most kitchens and nightly for heavy grease production such as fryers, charbroilers and wok ranges.
Can you supply replacement filters?
Yes. We measure your hood, order UL-listed stainless baffle filters in the correct sizes and fit them on the next visit.
Are mesh filters acceptable?
Not for grease-producing appliances. Current code calls for listed baffle-type grease filters, and we will flag mesh filters in your report.

Ready to schedule?
